Redlands Community College is seeking qualified candidates to apply for a full time Testing Center Assistant/Academic Team Assistant Coach position. This is a full-time,12-month, professional staff position. The salary range is $32,000 to $35,000 per year with excellent benefits. This position plays a crucial role in the daily operations of the Testing Center in assisting students, maintaining test security, assisting with the training of new hires, and ensuring a seamless testing process. This position will also assist in local and national quiz bowl tournaments, and assist with academic team practices.Testing Center Responsibilities include, but not limited to: Greet students upon arrival, verify their identification, and ensure student follow the Testing Center rules and policies; set up and prepare testing stations, distribute test materials, and monitor students during their examinations; work occasionally on Saturday for ACT administration and act as the primary proctor; enforce strict security protocols to prevent cheating and maintain the confidentiality of exam materials. While the responsibility to train new hires will fall on the Director of Testing, the Test Center Assistant will aid in the training process through demonstration and dialogue. Ensure the Testing Center is clean, organized, and all equipment is in working order; perform routine equipment checks; adhere to all company policies, procedures, and regulations related to Testing Center operations; ensure that proctors are performing adequately and within company policies, procedures, and regulations; provide exceptional customer service in a prompt and professional manner; communicate important information about the Testing Center to the Director of Testing and take all direction from the Director of Testing; monitor the Testing Center email, print test materials, and occasionally respond to faculty when needed; maintain digital and paper copies of check in and check out records; and perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.Assistant Coach Responsibilities include, but not limited to:Assist in planning, organizing, and administering all aspects of the quiz bowl program; teach students the fundamentals of quiz bowl; recruit and retain high quality students for the academic team; assist with all out of town competition; monitor and support the success of student team members; serve as a mentor and role model for the students of Redlands Community College and the community; moderate team practices from preparation through completion; assist in hosting or moderating competitions; and maintain public relations.Qualifications Required: This position requires a High School diploma; excellent interpersonal skills; attention to detail; a commitment to maintaining a professional environment; a minimum of two years’ experience working in higher education or customer service; prior quiz bowl experience; coaching experience of any kind; Microsoft Office experience; ability to work with staff, students, and faculty; excellent organizational skills; and flexibility in schedule for several out of town competitions a year.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree; and public relations experience.To Apply: Interested applicants are required to apply online and upload a cover letter, resume, copies of college transcripts (if any), and three references with names, addresses and phone numbers. Redlands provides email notifications to all students, faculty and staff when a Clery Crime occurs in or near Redlands Community College campus or any of its sites. These notifications are primarily sent if the incident poses an ongoing safety threat as determined by the President of the College or his designee.
